As investors’ appetite for risk slowly creeps back many companies are considering entering the capital markets and closely watching IPO activity. The IPO market has certainly picked up in 2009 after slowing to a trickle last year and smaller capitalization companies are taking advantage of the momentum. According to Hoovers, the number of IPOs from the beginning of March through the end of October for small capitalization companies (valuations under $500M) has increased from only 10 last year to 26 this year.
